  • Mystery massive royal tomb of Pharaoh unearthed after 3,600 years in Egypt – and no one knows who the fallen king was
by Lydia Doye on March 30, 2025 at 5:10 pm

ARCHAEOLOGISTS have discovered a huge tomb belonging to one of ancient Egypt’s earliest pharaohs. But with no mummy left inside the identity of the fallen king remains a mystery. Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities/Facebook https://www.facebook.com/tourismandantiq/pA tomb thought to belong to one of ancient Egypt’s earliest pharaohs has been discovered in Abydos[/caption] Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities/Facebook https://www.facebook.com/tourismandantiq/pArchaeologists are unsure which royal ruler the tomb belonged to[/caption] Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities/Facebook https://www.facebook.com/tourismandantiq/pPottery found in the royal tomb[/caption] The 3,600-year-old tomb was found nearly 23ft underground in the Mount Anubis necropolis in Abydos. The long-lost burial site features several rooms as well as 16ft vaults made of mud bricks. The entrance to the site is painted with scenes showing the goddess Isis and her sister Nephthys – commonly associated with funerary rituals. Archaeologists also found the remnants of hieroglyphic markings in the tomb’s entrance identifying the royal ruler – but these were undecipherable. Like many other tombs, this one has sadly been looted and damaged by robbers over the years. And the mummy and sarcophagus that once lay inside were nowhere to be found – leaving experts puzzled about the identity of the tomb’s owner. The discovery was made by a joint Egyptian-American archaeological team. Kathryn Howley, an archaeologist at the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University, said: “We don’t have a huge amount of source material to work with, and that’s why a new discovery like this is so exciting. “It really has the potential to rewrite the history of ancient Egypt.” The tomb is thought to belong to a member of the Abydos dynasty, who ruled more than 3,000 years ago. There are a number of contenders for its owner but the most likely are the ancient pharaohs Senaiib and Paentjeni. These kings have dedicated monuments elsewhere but no tombs. The Abydos dynasty is thought to have ruled a region around the city rather than the whole of Egypt. But the grandeur of the newly-discovered site has left experts wondering whether the dynasty was more powerful than they first thought. The discovery is the second royal find this year. The long-lost tomb of King Thutmose II was found close to a vast burial ground known as The Valley of the Kings in Luxor, Egypt back in February.  Archaeologists had previously uncovered Thutmose II’s mummified remains but the original burial site was never found.   King Thutmose II was the fourth Pharaoh of Egypt‘s 18th Dynasty, and is thought to have reigned from about 1493 BC to 1479 BC. He died at the age of 30.  King Thutmose II was married to Queen Hatshepsut, who made history as a powerful female pharaoh. The tomb was discovered by English archaeologist Howard Carter, who set about finding and excavating it in 1915. Carter eventually found the site of the pharaoh’s remains in November 1922, but it took another three months before the archaeologist finally found the sarcophagus itself. Tutankhamen’s tomb is unusually small considering his status, which suggests he may have died unexpectedly before a grander final resting place could be completed. But there was a dark side to the story – following the unearthing of Tutankhamun’s remains, various figures connected with the expedition died in mysterious circumstances. These included Lord Canarvon, the financial backer of the excavation team, who died from an infected mosquito bite. Sir Archibald Douglas-Reid, who X-rayed the pharaoh’s remains, was killed by a mystery illness. Carter himself died in 1939 from Hodgkin’s Disease aged 64. • I was abducted by aliens… why eerie clues like bumps under skin & nosebleeds could be signs of a chilling UFO encounter
by Elizabeta Ranxburgaj on March 30, 2025 at 2:18 pm

THE existence of aliens has been a long debated theory – but some believe we may have been victims of supernatural beings without even realising. Among the most infamous so-called abduction cases include the New York housewife Linda Napolitano and British twin Philip Kinsella who both say they were snatched by aliens in the same year. NetflixLinda Napolitano’s alien abduction story is one of the most infamous in history[/caption] Linda claimed that supernatural creatures snatched her from her New York City apartment and flew her over the Brooklyn Bridge© 2024 Netflix, Inc. NetflixLinda, left, claimed she was abducted from her bedroom in Manhattan on 30 November, 1989[/caption] Philip KinsellaClairvoyant Philip Kinsella claims he was abducted by ‘reptilian’ aliens in 1989[/caption] Linda shocked the world with her “abduction of the century” when she claimed aliens beamed her up from her Manhattan bedroom in November 1989. The housewife’s story was corroborated by 23 people who allegedly saw her fly over the Brooklyn Bridge. In 2013, she told Vanity Fair: “If I was hallucinating, then the witnesses saw my hallucination.” And in 2022, Linda’s shocking story was turned into a hit Netflix show called The Manhattan Alien Abduction. Extra-terrestrial life, life that does not originate from Earth, is yet to be scientifically proven. But Linda is not the only alleged alien abductee to come forward with chilling details about a strange encounter with otherworldly beings. Brit Philip Kinsella claimed he was abducted by “reptilian” aliens in 1989 when he was abruptly awoken at his Bedfordshire home in the middle of the night. The clairvoyant said he was levitated and moved through the rooms in his home before he was strapped naked onto a board and claims a probe was put inside him. Phillip spoke exclusively to The Sun about that terrifying night but also revealed six chilling signs that could mean you have had an eerie alien encounter – and not even known. Talking about the first time he set eyes on the alien figure, he told The Sun: “That image was the most rawest, that I will never forget, was their faces. “They looked like dinosaurs, but they were reptilian, about seven to eight feet tall.” Philip and his twin brother Ronald claimed to have had four spooky encounters with UFOs including spotting “three white hovering objects” on camera in 2016. Although Philip remembers his alleged alien encounter, he revealed that most people supposedly have their memories wiped by the extraterrestrial creatures. Here are six eerie signs that you could have been abducted without even knowing, according to abductee Phillip. An unusual bump under the skin Philip revealed that aliens allegedly leave implants in humans they have visited, and they are about the size of a grain of rice. He added that he didn’t know what the device did, but it was covered in “organic tissue, so it’s not rejected by the organ, by the body itself”. He added: “Sometimes they’re very tiny, very small, and they have kind of like a very hard, not metallic, but kind of like strange structure.” Philip said his alleged implant was behind his ear and he had had it in his body for two years. The apparent abductee gave tips on how people might be able to spot signs of these apparent implants. NetflixLinda’s case has been dubbed the ‘abduction of the century’[/caption] © 2024 Netflix, Inc.Her story was made into a hit 2022 Netflix show called The Manhattan Alien Abduction[/caption] MercuryPhilip and his identical twin Ronald both claim to have encountered UFOs too[/caption] These could include an itch or a general problem area – and he also claimed that they appeared on X-rays. American actress Fran Drescher claimed in 2012 that aliens abducted her and implanted a chip in her hand – and the same happened to her producer husband Peter Marc Jacobson. Drescher told Huffington Post: “We both have this scar. It’s the exact same scar on the exact same spot.” Unexplained nosebleeds Philip said one of the main physical symptoms he faced after his alleged alien abduction was nosebleeds. He claimed he suffered from “awful” bleeds for two years after the incident. He told The Sun: “I suffered profuse nosebleeds to the right nostrils. It got to the stage where it became very embarrassing. “I could be sitting on the train, and then it would just start to pour, and the doctors were going to cauterise that.” Similarly, Linda claimed she woke up with a nosebleed after her first alleged alien encounter – and a strange bump on the side of her nose. Unusual marks on the skin Philip revealed he was left with three triangle marks on the back of his right ear after the alleged alien encounter. He believes marks could be left as part of the alleged implantation device ritual – with parts of human flesh used to cover the implant. Netflix23 people claimed they witnessed Linda flying over Brooklyn Bridge[/caption] MercuryA page from Philip’s book documenting the moment he saw the supposed UFO[/caption] Philip KinsellaPhilip said some of these signs include unusual marks on the skin and unexplained nosebleeds[/caption] Recalling random memories Philip claimed potential alien abductees might not remember their shock encounter, especially if their memory was wiped, but pieces of the experience might creep back. The UFO researcher explained some people might experience “screen memory” where past experiences “surface deep from the subconscious mind to the conscious mind”. Philip added: “Some people will have fractured memories coming forward, but the memories are not just like dreams. “They will actually feel with them.” Alien-hunters discover new 'signs of life' RESEARCHERS have reportedly discovered signals of life on far-off planets. A new clue from exoplanets – beyond our solar system – has teased the existence of aliens on a distant world. Gases, which can be detected in the atmosphere of exoplanets, have sparked interest among researchers at the University of California, Riverside. These gases are “rarely considered in the search for extraterrestrials”, scientists said. Researchers said the the James Webb Space Telescope would be able to detect a group of gases called methyl halides. On Earth, they’re mostly produced by bacteria, marine algae, fungi, and some plants. Exoplanets that look like Earth are too “small and dim” to be spied by the JWST this piece of space hardware would need to look for bigger exoplanets that orbit small red stars. These Hycean planets would have deep world-spanning oceans and thick atmospheres made up of hydrogen. Humans wouldn’t be able to live on these worlds – but alien microbes could “thrive”. Scientists believe we should be searching for these methyl halides when looking for signs of life. Michaela Leung, a planetary scientist at UCR, said: “Oxygen is currently difficult or impossible to detect on an Earth-like planet. “However, methyl halides on Hycean worlds offer a unique opportunity for detection with existing technology.” Becoming more psychic and creative Philip told The Sun that people who have experienced the alleged alien abductions can become more imaginative after the event. The clairvoyant revealed how his “traumatic” experience shaped the way he now thinks. He said: “So people will also have their minds opened, or another aspect to their mind open. So I became psychic. So, did they instigate that? “Did the trauma of that open that up in my mind? I don’t know. I couldn’t tell you so. “It’s very interesting, but it was very traumatic and very shocking for me.” Academic research has shown that alleged alien abductees appear to have a different psyche compared to others. A 2008 study found they had higher levels of paranormal beliefs and experiences – and self-reported psychic abilities. Missing time The alleged victim claimed people could experience some time loss, where they are missing some minutes or hours from their day. Philip claimed abductees have their memory wiped by the aliens, leading to gaps in their recollection. He said: “This happens quite a lot, and occasionally there’s missing time as well, too. They will miss time.” Despite this, Philip said he remembered the alleged events, calling them “raw” and “savage”. The same experience of “missing time” happening to four students – Jack Weiner, Jim Weiner, Chuck Rak, and Charlie Foltz – in Maine in the US when they spotted a bright light. And it wasn’t until years later in hypnosis sessions that they relived an alleged alien abduction – and described the same events individually. Another infamous case is Barney and Betty Hill – an American couple who claimed they were abducted in New Hampshire in 1961. When questioned, they could recall almost nothing about a certain period of time during the encounter. Although the exact number of alleged alien abductees in uncertain, a study suggests that up to six per cent of the population believe it’s happened to them. • Massive 7.1-magnitude earthquake strikes off Tonga coast sparking tsunami warning
by Aliki Kraterou on March 30, 2025 at 1:05 pm

A HUGE 7.1-magnitude earthquake has hit near Tonga and Niue in the Pacific Ocean and prompted a tsunami warning. The US Geological Survey said the temblor hit about 62 miles northeast of the main island of Tongatapu in the early morning hours of Monday local time. USGSThe earthquake stuck about 62 miles northeast of Tongatapu on Monday morning local time[/caption] AFPA strong earthquake hit off the coast of Tonga[/caption] A tsunami warning has now been issued for Tonga – which is home to 100,000 people across 45 islands. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued an alert saying hazardous waves could be possible for coasts located within 185 miles of the epicentre. Tonga and Niue, which is northeast of where the quake struck, could now see a tsunami wave of between 0.3m to one metre. While the Cook Islands, Fiji, Samoa, Tuvalu, Kiribati, Kermadec Islands, American Samoa, and Wallis and Fortuna, could all see a wave of less than 30cm. The quake struck six miles deep, far shallower than the Boxing Day tsunami, which was 18 miles deep. A shallow quake would shake the ground more severely, raising the risk of a major tsunami. It will take a while for reports of damage to come in given the quake struck in the middle of the night local time, and there are so few people in that part of the globe. Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology says there is no risk of tsunami for the land down under. Tonga was hammered by the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha’apai volcano that erupted in 2022, covering the most populated islands in ash. The eruption left a crater in the seabed and produced Earth’s biggest atmospheric explosion in over 100 years. • Incredible moment woman gives birth to baby while 7.7-mag earthquake hits Bangkok hospital as quake death toll rises
by James Halpin on March 30, 2025 at 11:06 am

THIS is the incredible moment a woman gives birth just moments after the massive 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Bangkok. Footage shows Kanthong Saenmuangshin, 36, surrounded by doctors and nurses trying to evacuate her from hospital on a rolling bed. ReutersHospital staff had to try and evacuate Kanthong Saenmuangshin as she was giving birth[/caption] ReutersNurses held up lights so doctors could deliver the baby as they rolled Kanthong through the hallway[/caption] ReutersKanthong has not yet named her baby[/caption] Around 1,700 have been killed in the natural disaster, but there was at least one new life that the earthquake brought on. The Thai woman went into labour following the shaking and gave birth on the way out of the building. Kanthong had gone into the hospital for a checkup when the quake hit and was being escorted down stairs when her water broke. She said she was worried she would give birth on the stairs and said: “I was telling my baby, don’t come out yet. “Then I was put on a hospital bed and was surrounded by a lot of medical staff where I just gave birth right then and there. It was all a shock to me too.” In the clip, Kanthong can be seen lying on her back on the bed with her legs wide open as she is rolled through the hospital hallway. One nurse holds up a light while other nurses held up a sheet to try and protect her modesty in the chaotic scene. Doctors stand around trying to delivery the baby in the trying circumstances. Amid the chaos in the Thai capital and the speed of Kanthong’s labour, her husband could not make it in time for the delivery. The pair have not named the baby yet, but they have given it the nickname ‘Mink’. Others in Bangkok saw tall apartment buildings shaking and water spilling to the ground from a roof-top pool. Brit tourist Paul Vincent was at a streetside bar in Bangkok when the quake struck. He said: “Everybody came on the street… there was a lot of screaming and panicking, which obviously made it a lot worse. “There was people crying in the streets… the panic was horrendous really.” Machinery is used to clear the rubble at the site of a collapsed building in Bangkok Women cry as they wait for news about their husbands as rescue work is underway A high-rise under construction also collapsed burying a number of people. Terrifying footage showed the moment a 30-storey skyscraper in Bangkok came crashing down – with screaming workers seen running for their lives in a cloud of debris and dust. The newborn in the earthquake comes as the smell of decaying bodies permeates the streets of Myanmar’s second-largest city of Mandalay on Sunday. People worked frantically by hand to clear rubble in the hope of finding someone still alive, two days after the massive earthquake struck. Countless are still buried in buildings that have collapsed. Relief efforts have been hampered by buckled roads, downed bridges, spotty communications and the challenges of operating in a country in the midst of a civil war. A 5.1 magnitude aftershock Sunday afternoon prompted screams from those in the streets, and then the work continued. Many of Mandalay’s 1.5 million people spent the night sleeping on the streets, either left homeless by the quake or worried that the continuing aftershocks might cause structures left unstable to collapse. Aftershocks have been felt in India and China – and the US Geological Survey has issued a red alert for deaths and damage. • Owner of world’s most expensive dog vows to buy donkey-sized pooch worth £10million – and needs a HELICOPTER to ship it
by Georgie English on March 30, 2025 at 10:01 am

THE owner of the world’s most expensive dog is plotting his next purchase – a donkey-sized £10million pooch. Dog enthusiast S Sathish, 51, already owns an eye-watering £4.4million “wolfdog” who weighs way more than the average human. Indian dog enthusiast S Sathish already owns a £4.4million ‘wolfdog’ who weighs more than the average humanTaniya Dutta Okami became a worldwide sensation earlier this month after the eight-month-old puppy went viral on social mediaTaniya Dutta Sathish also owns a £2.5m Chow Chow that strikingly resembles a Qinling pandaYouTube His current dog, named Cadabomb Okami, became a worldwide sensation earlier this month after the eight-month-old puppy went viral on social media. It is a cross between an actual wolf and a Caucasian Shepherd – making it the first of its kind, according to Sathish. The pup already weighs a staggering 75kg and stands at over 2.5ft tall. Sathish, a 50-year-old former dog breeder from Bangalore in southern Karnataka, has always been obsessed with rare breeds of dogs. And despite Okami being a remarkable puppy in their own right, Sathish is confident he will soon own a pooch that is unlike anything ever seen before. Encouraged by Okami’s new-found celebrity status, Sathish has vowed to buy a “donkey-sized” dog worth £10million – which can only be moved by helicopter. He told The Sun: “This dog is the size of a donkey. No one has seen it before. “I will launch it in April and I will use a helicopter. I have been trying to get it for the last six months. It will cost me 100 crore rupees (£10million).” Sathish admits to spending all his cash on new pets rather than fancy cars or houses. He said: “People earn money to buy a big house or a car but not me. My dogs are my assets. “I have no money in the bank because I re-invest my money in dogs. I like when people stop and look at them. I love publicity, show-offs.” The flamboyant dog enthusiast first fell in love with the four-legged friends when he was only six-years-old. He managed to convince his family to adopt 20 mutts after being left heartbroken by the number of street dogs, he said. And his passion for pooches only continued as Sathish grew up and he became a breeder in 1989. Recalling his dog-filled past, Sathish said: “Loving dogs is in my blood. “I gave treatment and food to the street dogs. Once, one of my dogs died and I cried for a month. “My father got me a cross breed dog between a Doberman and Great Dane. It was my first quality breed dog and that’s how my journey started.” His business soon took off with Sathish giving away dogs for free in return for him being allowed to keep the puppies in the litter so he could sell them on. Okami is a cross between an actual wolf and a Caucasian Shepherd – making it the first of its kind, according to Sathish Sathish is a 50-year-old former dog breeder from Bangalore in southern KarnatakaTaniya Dutta Taniya DuttaOkami weighs as much as an average sized human and fits perfectly onto a bed[/caption] After a few short years, he had managed to build up a collection of over 150 breeds, including Tibetan Mastiffs, Korean Mastiffs, Alaskan Malamutes and Caucasian Shepherds. And many of the dogs were brand new to Indians, meaning Sathish quickly grew in popularity. Then, ten years ago, he stopped breeding and switched to buying extremely rare dogs. Sathish said his dream has always been to become famous alongside his pets – something his new career has helped make a reality. He parades the dogs around high-profile events, including film screenings, club openings, product promotions and even religious functions to impress guests and the rich and famous. The events can earn Sathish and his spoiled pups anywhere between £2,200 for just 30 minutes – or up to £9,000 for a full five hours. “I am a crowd puller,” he said. “Even actors and politicians don’t get the attention that I get.” He claims event organisers not only pay him but also shower him with gifts including a seven-million rupees (£63,000) diamond necklace. Over the years, Sathish says he has invested more than £10million in buying expensive and rare dogs from all over the world. He has managed to collect lovable pets from Russia, China, America, Switzerland, New Zealand and even Thailand. Sathish’s most interesting dogs Okami is Sathish’s most valuable, tallest and biggest dog to date. But his sheer size has meant he is also one of the only pooches who hasn’t been able to find a second home. The dog is the size of a two-seater sofa and his giant head is larger than an NBA basketball. His paws are even bigger than the average adult human’s palm. Another issue with Okami is his impervious size meant he was the perfect guard dog and was trained up to be one from a puppy. This means he can often be fiercely protective and is now kept safe at a secret location for security reasons by a young couple. Sathish added: “He behaves and looks like a wolf but is not that ferocious. He plays with us but not with strangers. At the first event, people took selfies with him and he was calm. “This dog is expensive because it is an antique piece, he is only one-of-its-kind.” I spend £100k a year for my dog to be MAYOR BY Georgie English, Foreign News Reporter A PROUD dog owner spends £100,000 a year for her adorable dog to be the mayor of an entire town. Mayor Max III is the third golden retriever to take the top job in the unconventional Californian town since 2012 – but it’s cost his owners a whopping amount of cash to keep their pooches in power. On top of being Max III’s parents, Phyllis Mueller and Glenn Warren are his chiefs of staff and couldn’t be prouder of him for following in the footsteps of the two previous dog mayors – Max I and Max II. The trio are far from your average politicians and traded in debates and law making for tail wagging and toy playing. When he’s hard at work Max can always be seen sporting a mini tie like a proper politician and sometimes even a hat or a harness with his name on it. Every year Phyllis buys up to 20,000 ties to hand out to people. Phyllis appoints them as a fellow deputy to Max and makes it clear the tie is a sign of solidarity with the dog and the Idyllwild clan. Just like any mayor, Max is in charge of the Christmas lights switch on, cutting ribbons, announcing openings of stores and having private business meetings with clients. But Idyllwild’s good boy also goes above and beyond a mayor’s typical duties. He pays his respects at memorial services, keeps the elderly company on trips to retirement homes, and even goes to weddings – including the odd hen or stag do where he’s the main attraction in his special tie. Phyllis said the town sometimes needs the pick-me-up that only dogs can bring. He also bought a rare Chow Chow that strikingly resembles a red and white Qinling panda. The adorable pup was purchased for £2.5million. The same price also got Sathish a Caucasian shepherd, named Cadaboms Hayder. The guard dog, whose breed is native to Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia, is used to guide and protect herds of livestock from wolves. The staggering price of some of Sathish’s dogs have even drawn the attention of the government’s animal department across the years. They have slapped him with notices over his behaviour but Sathish has always been adamant he is not doing anything illegal and is providing the pets with a life of luxury and comfort. He said: “I introduce unique dogs and bring India on the global map yet some people abuse me. “But I don’t care because I love dogs and don’t harm them.” He has also continued to work to save as many street dogs as he can.
